~Living the Dream~

Based in Scarborough Maine, Maine Photography Inc. was incorporated in 2009 by Chris Lawrence.
Chris has lived in Maine since 1970, and is an avid outdoorsman and landscape photographer.  Chris started the photography business while engaged in a 20 year corporate career in data communications sales and account management.

He is a hunter and gatherer of natural light conditions and spirited adventurer, who has an affinity to the colorful and inherent beautiful imagery of Maine.  Chris can be found shooting images hanging out the door of helicopters, riding the stormy seas in a boat, climbing Maine’s mountains, to chilling by the side of a silent winding river.  Chris got his first camera by borrowing his father’s 35mm Canon AE1 film camera and setting out on a road trip to drive across the USA in a van in 1984.  The photographic adventures and images just keep coming to this day.

“Photography…. For me, it is totally captivating.  Give me a camera and I will wander.
I become acutely aware of the natural environment around me.  Time becomes irrelevant and infinite; I lose all concept of it in the vacuum of the lens. Fascination; my world becomes one of light, colors, movement, angles, lines, and textures.
That moment is totally self-absorbed, for me, and me alone.  The truth of that singular moment is fleeting, yet these universal moments are happening right now, in our lives and our world… everywhere.
Sharing of my images feels like giving a gift of conveyance; the transporting of one from one place to another via a singular event caught in time and space.”  ~ Chris Lawrence
